Street rod font

I’m working on the font that’s used by the original Street Rod game.

I used Bitfontmaker2 to create a bitmap font. It can export the font as a TrueType font file (ttf).
The exported ttf file can then be loaded with the CSS3 property @font-face.

@font-face {
  font-family: streetrod;
  src: url('streetrod.ttf');
}

body {
  font-family: streetrod;
}

Browsers render the font as anti-aliased text. This results in blurry text (smooth edges).

Because I created a bitmap font I don’t want the browser to render it with smooth edges, it should be rendered as-is.

Webkit browsers support a css property to disable anti-aliasing:

-webkit-font-smoothing: none;

This is the result, exactly what I need.

Unfortunately Firefox doesn’t support this property.

Download the Street Rod font here.
